About Backwood Acres Bed and Breakfast

Bob & Mary Jane Day moved to Sparta Kentucky 15 years ago, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. They knew that they wanted some land in the country and when they found this area, they fell in love with it.  Quickly realizing right away that it would not be all play, there was a lot of work involved also.  But, what a great place for the kids and grandkids to call home.

In 1999 they had a local carpenter build a small cabin for when the family would visit.  However, there were times when it would sit empty. And this is exactly where  the idea came from for the Bed & Breakfast. The name ”Backwoodacres” is self explanatory. Most of the acreage is back in the woods! Their sons are avid hunters and fishermen, therefore the cabin is decorated in that theme.

Bob & Mary Jane look forward to meeting many new people who will enjoy the peace and quiet of the country, maybe wet a line, and have some real fish stories to tell when they leave !
